An amazing movie starring George Clooney and many others. I knew it would be great but after seeing it I feel it has changed me, in a way. Created by the same guy that made Juno and Thank You For Smoking. Two movies that are equally great!! Watch it and get back to me=

This reminds me of Umeå, in a way. Emma Jenny Hanna and I would ride around singing "Im Yours" on our bikes. Though it didnt sound anything like this! The kid is real good at the Ukulele for his age. I checked out his page and watch a vid with a song he created himself=)

Kid Cudi's album entitles "Man On The Moon" is kicken! Check it out. This is prolly one of the best songs on the track. The intro is dope alone!!! Too bad its not longer=(

Never Again

This past weekend I went to Milwaukee to visit my sister and go to my cousin's birthday party in Racine. My sister's friend had ticket to the Bucks game so we decided to go. While we are the only ones sitting in our row, this women comes up to my sister and I and asks if either of us has scene Housewives of Atlanta ( its this stupid reality show about rich women who live in Atlanta). One of the women on the show was in a singing group in the 90's and helped wrote the song "Creep" for TLC. This woman helped one of the other woman turn a country song into a pop song. Anyway, my sister told the woman at the game that she does in fact watch that crazy show and I told her yes as well but only cuz my dumb sister made me watch it. So the woman asked us to stand up and sing the country turned pop song in front of the entire stadium. I agreed to only if my sis would. Also, we were in Milwaukee and I doubted I knew anyone. About two minutes after I sang and danced with that woman and my sis my friend calls me laughing. He was sitting to my left and unfortunately saw the entire thing =(

Where The Wild Things Are

I couldnt be more excited to see this film! I read the book and saw the animated version as a child which makes me love it even more. The fact that Spike Jones directed it and the movie is shot in real time NOT animation is a plus as well=)

Today

I was listening to one of the many great songs by John Legend called, "Show Me". The overall melody of the song is uplifting in a way but the lyrics are kinda sad. I looked the vid up on youtube and saw at the end, that it was dedicated to two guys, Yaguine Koita and Foda Tounkara. In the music video Legend follows this kid around and at the end the kid sneaks into the grounds at an airport and boards a plane by climbing one of the wheels. I thought it was a bit strange till I google the two guys names.

In 1999, the bodies of these two men were found in the right hand wheel bay of a plane that had traveled from Conakry, Guinea to Brussels, Belgium. They carried a letter that was addressed to officials of Europe. You should read it!! Here's a link to an english translation of the letter

This night when I was out my friends we went to this girls house and she played this song about 5 times... no joke!! Every time she did my friends and I could not stop laughing cuz her and her friends had to dance. Anyway my sister showed me this music video that these dudes made for the song. To Hanna and Jenny

So last night was the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy!! I must say I as pretty excited even though I new most of what was going to happen. One scene I couldnt believe was the scene at the funeral when Izzie left and the rest of the clan followed. I remembered that she has inappropriate reactions to death but I did not see mer christina and karev laughing as well!?! Thats was kinda weird. I thought for sure someone was gonna hear or see them laughing! The best part, I must say, was the ending... Classic Derek and Bailey in the elevator, Mer Finally crying, Christina and Owen... hahah - I love how she said "you can sleep in the tub", and Karev letting Izzie in (I guess) I suppose it had to end with a song that they already played in a previous season; to add familiarity!

THE BLUEPRINT 3 - Great album that Jay Z just came out with. Been listening to it a lot lately. Mainly cuz his beats are unique and the fact that he's using real musicians to do his beats. Jay Z is timeless!

Family Time

I took this picture at the beach in Racine. This was a couple hours before the fireworks for the 4th of July went off. Every year after the parade my cousins and I go the  beach and and play in and by the water. This year it was to cold to go into the water so my cousins chose to sink instead=)

Another Day

This past week has been real crazy!! I spent most of it in Milwaukee and Racine and went to summerfest twice!! The Roots were by far the best live concert I have ever seen!!!! Crazy good!!! Its finally back to being warm in Madison but I cant go anywhere cuz my dad took the car for the week... stuck at home I guess. Anyway, Im loving the warm weather but every time I see a snowboard video it makes me wanna go boarding SOOOO BAD!

Going to California

Yesterday I decided to go the Academy of Art University in San Francisco California starting in January!! It was either this school or Augsburg College in Minnesota. I chose the school in the warmer climate of course! No... im really looking forward to starting school and studying film and what not!!!!!!!!! YAY!

Recover

I love waking up in the morning feeling like crap! We had the craziest storm last night which made it impossible for me to bike home. Instead I just crashed at a friends house and biked home in the morning. No biggy. Its funny biking through town in the morning watching everyone starting their day while im trying to get home to sleep=) Wish it wasnt so humid... my hair is getting crazier by the minute.
Just gonna chill the rest of the day, play some soft ball and roll to a party with my brother! Jajamensan

Umm...

Today is the first day I havent hung out with any of my friends... weird. Although the weather is almost perfect I havent really been outside except to take my dog out. For some reason it feels like a sunday. Nice and quiet morning, some Scrubs on television and all you want to do is just lie around and chill. Too bad my parents are ridiculous and would never let me just sit around on any day=( We'll better get my work done if I'm gonna be able to hang out tomorrow. I wish I had some pictures to post but instead ill post a song thats been stuck in my head today and sort of goes with my mood today!=) couldnt find a better vid, so just pay attention to the song!

Madison

I'm finally back in the US. I forgot how humid it is in Madison, but I like how its been really warm. Just been chilling with my friends and trying to get some college stuff done. The weird thing about seeing everyone is that its been so long but once we start hanging out it feels like no time has past since we last saw each other.

Rainy day

It rained almost the entire day today. My dad and I tried to walk downtown regardless of the weather which was a bad idea! Didnt get much shopping done but we ate at a really good restaurant and mostly chilled in the main boat for the rest of the evening=) All in all, not a bad day! Couldnt get this one song out of my head....?

Sealife

My dad and I are staying on a boat in Stockholm! I love waking up and being able to see Gamla stan across the water. The weather has been really nice these past couple of days but I miss the constant sunlight like in the north. Swedish people in the south are definitely different than people in the north. Still friendly but a little less laid back.
We walked almost all day past Gamla stan to all the shopping centers then finally came back to the boat cuz my feet felt like they were going to fall off. I've never crashed so hard in my life... except for when I slept for 24 hours straight! haha! Just sitting upstairs on the main boat and listing to Bon Iver (he's from Wisconsin!) I discovered him from House m.d. Good music on that show!
In a couple days i'll leave nice calm Sweden and return to LOUD America=)

Vi Ses Snart

Left Umeå, friends and family this past friday=( I had a chance to see the Brenboll tournament before I left which was crazy! There were a lot of ridiculous outfits but I think the most ridiculous was this boy in my sister Emma´s class who was wearing a Borat swimsuit... not a pretty sight!
Im in Stockholm for the week with my dad and sister. Then its off to the states on thursday

Facebook saved my phone!

I went to the University with a family friend this morning then decided to take the bus into town with my sister. While boarding the bus, the driver told me he didnt except credit cards only cash. Haha, so my sister and I had to get off the bus and try and find an ATM machine! At some point in time I lost my phone, only I didnt realize I didnt have it on me until I was downtown at some mall. No matter, all I had to do is take the bus back to the University and look for my phone. We went to our friends office and luckily she had it=) Meanwhile, my friend in Umeå received a call from one of the students at the University in Luleå telling her she found my phone and that it was one of the only numbers she could call cuz the rest were all American! haha! So my friends go to the University of Umeå and to try and find my dad. Only the University of Umeå is huge and he could have been anywhere. somehow, they get lucky in a search through the data base and find my dads friend! Unfortunately my sisters phone doesnt work in Sweden so they were really no help. After calling my Swedish parents, my friends search through facebook for my friend in Luleå and they get her cell phone! yay! They call her, she calls her mom, and I get my phone=) all that for one phone=) and it all happened within two hours!haha.... Thank you facebook and friends!

Luleå

Went out with the Canoe this morning wit my sister. The weather was pretty nice and the water was calm so we did okay! I told her Luleå was real relaxing and she said "all of Sweden seems relaxing".... but once we arrived she knew exactly what I meant. This time of year it never gets dark! which can be bad sometimes if you really need to get to bed early but I like it=) Went into town and sat by the water when my dad and sister finally got dressed. I could have sat watching the sun behind the clouds all day ! Just one more week left in Sweden and ill be back in the US=(

Chillin

Michelle arrived this past tuesday which has been a lot of fun!! Two weeks really isnt enough time to do everything you want and to see everyone but oh well. Im enjoying showing my sister around but it also kinda sad seeing everyone for the last time=( Hopefully ill be back in Umeå soon! Until then, just enjoying my last few weeks here along with the nice weather=)

Lagom

Cant remember the last time I went to a park with friends. Even though the weather wasnt perfect today, it was still nice enough to go outside and have some fun=) Hanna and I met up to go to Jenny's house... mainly cuz Hanna really wanted to see Milton (Jenny's Dog) but we wanted to hang out with Jenny as well! After a warm greeting from Milton, we decided to go to the park. I think we played on this strange contraption for about an hour! It was too much fun but also very tiring, so we kinda crashed at the end! I know the three of us must have looked a little strange to all of the parents of little children at the park. Yelling and screaming while riding the tire ride and going down the slide=) I dont nearly go to the park as often as I should so im thinking of making it a required activity every once or twice a month!! 

Case of the Monday's=)

Didnt think I would have a nice and relaxing monday but I guess I was wrong. Woke up pretty late this morning then watched the season finale of Brothers and Sisters while eating breakfast. All in all it was a nice ending to the third season but it didnt leave many cliffhangers to be exited about for the fourth season=( Anyway, after lunch I went to the caf with Jenny and basically just chilled. I think Jenny would have much rather walked around or gone outside but I was fine with just sitting. After about 2 hours of chillin we were joined by an interesting guy! haha!! I dont really know how else to describe the situation? I konw its hard to talk to someone if you dont speak their language especially if one of the only things you know how to say is "hey beautiful" haha. At least he tried.. and I'm not trying to be mean but it was really funny and awkward at the same time! So after walking away from an extremely weird situation I then had a conversation about four swedish sayings that you need to know. These could get you anywhere you wanna go and possible bad situations depending on when you use them=)) haha, it was nice just chilling for anther hour! Then when I finally went out to shoot some buckets i realized that it was nearly 4 and I had to make dinner=( not good! luckely Emma saved my butt!!

the weekend

Crazy weekend!! Had a birthday party on Friday at Emma's!! Then of course went to the club after followed by Max! After my soccer game on Saturday I went home and ate with the fam. Then, I went to see X-men=) Love Hugh!!! Haha, I ate an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's half baked ice cream!! It was so good=) 

Birthday

Today is my birthday! I got woken up by my swedish family at around 7 am with singing and cake and a pair of Bjorn Borg underwear which are very very comfortable! =) I mostly just chilled at school cuz there wasnt much else to do but it was fine and today wasnt really a fast day at all. Soccer sucked cuz it was cold and rainy but I had an interesting time waiting for the bus and riding to practice. One of my team mates got on three wrong buses until she finally boarded the right one! haha. She went in the complete wrong direction, then when she finally made it back to vasaplan she got on bus that was going to take her back in the direction she came from. Luckily she figured it out before it was too late =) Anyway, I had a really nice dinner followed by some more of that great cake! I ended the night by watching a movie with my swedish fam=) All in all I enjoyed my b-day! Happy to be 19!!!

Day before the day

Had a good day today! Went to the library for english and sat and listened to music... its was a nice and relaxing start to the day. Then since I had over a two hour break, Jenny and I played cards. Hahaha, one of the most interesting games I've ever played=)  Mostly cuz a certain someone was always cheating!!! I also got to play basketball! Although next time Jenny will play with me! No Joke!! To top it all off, Hanna took me to the Taj Mahal for dinn dinn!! The food tasted like heaven and thats not an exaggeration=)

"Stay Gold"

Had a pretty relaxing weekend! On thursday, there was a bonfire in almost every neighborhood in Umeå. I seems like as soon as warm weather comes along, everyone pops outside. One of the best parts of my weekend was just riding through town watching all the people enjoy the warm weather=) Also, when I woke up saturday morning I thought it was sunday!! Now that it is actually sunday, it doesnt feel as satisfying But at least the weekend lasted long.

Anyway... I'm thinking about sitting outside and reading a book. Sunday's are always slow days for me. Gotta find some new music first and maybe catch up on House M.D.

Failure

For some reason I was in the mood to dance Friday night. I love watching scrubs and every time I see Turk or JD dance I cant stop laughing! I guess the show inspired me at Emma's. 

Fiesta Friday!

Felt a little dizzy in the morning so I stayed home and got better in time for Emma's party. Didnt get much done during the day except for solving the rubiks cube! yay! Went to my first club which was crazy fun!!! Arrived early, got the pre party going then sang some karaoke. Never again! =) Then, after watching the guards take down two guys... Emma and I headed up to Max. A burger has never tasted so good! haha! 

Kofi

My uncle always sends me the funniest pictures of people and places. I just received one from him of animals and their owners. This one pic reminds me of my dog Kofi. A couple months after we got him, we were both tired from having played all day so I lied down on the carpet next to my piano. Kofi stood over me for a few moments then laid down right on top of me. Both his paws fit perfectly under my arms and he lay his head directly over my shoulder. Next thing I remember is waking up an hour later with Kofi still on top of me and asleep.=) I miss my dog!! Permanent 5 o'clock shadow

This past week I was in Hemavan and Tärnaby with my Swedish family. My friend from school bet me a bag a Kex chocklad if I got a goggle tan... so I did. I'm starting to regret the decision since it looks like I have a permanent 5 o'clock shadow!! I could have had such a nice tan =( Oh well. We drove up on thursday so we didnt go to the mountain till friday. The weather was real warm but only for friday and saturday when it was about 9 degrees!! The other days, the weather was cold and windy. I guess you just had to choose. Warm weather and slushy snow or cold weather and decent snow. The only downer was that we didnt have powder snow, which = heaven!!! All in all I had a fun time and I'm kinda bummed it was my last time.

I dont know how many times I've tried to stress this?? Owen Hunt on Grey's Anatomy has a nickname.... and its McBadass! So, please, please stop calling him by those other dumb names! Here's a vid my friend made... it should help if your having doubts! 

New Thing

Yesterday I tried to drive stick shift for the first time.... yikes!!!! My friends said I was pretty good for it being my first time and that they were impressed but that being said, they are my friends. I dont understand why everyone just doesnt convert to automatic?? Its soooo much easier and much more relaxing! This was an interesting experience but I think ill stick with automatic, for other people's sake=)

Sick Again!

I've been sick almost every month this year!!!! Went to school anyway today, cuz we had equality day!?! First we listened to a women talk about her experience dealing with being raped but since it was in swedish I only understood the part when she talked about growing up in Goteborg=( Then we watched a play about a girl wanting to dance but her mom wouldnt allow it. After doing a group activity and eating lunch we all met back in the "Aula" and watched the movie "Enough" with Jennifer Lopez. Pretty intense movie at the end but I didnt understand why she went into his house at the end?!?

Hope this cold doesnt last long!

Bus Stop Conversations

I always have the most interesting conversations with people at bus stops. Yesterday, while waiting for the bus to take me to futbol practice I met this man from Chile who is married to a swedish women. He's been in Sweden for about seven years and is still learning to deal with the cold!! Since he only spoke a little english I had to speak spanish and some swedish, which was... difficult!!! Just last month I met this women at a different bus stop. I cant remember where exactly she was from but we talked about the weather and the club futbol teams in Umeå and in the US. And... as Hanna likes to say " I dont really know where to go from there?". Its an interesting experience! 

Faceless Dancer...

I spent the day listening to classical music that reminded me of my sister. When I was younger, I loved going to ballet class with her. Not to participate but to watch and listen. When I'm home, she has me learn songs on the piano so I can play them for her. Yesterday, I searched youtube for songs I remember from her ballet classes. I drew a picture just for you Michelle! I only spent 5 minutes on it, so give me a break. =) 

Late Night

Last night after watching 7 Pounds followed by The Day The Earth Stood still and eating way to many fingers and brownies... I couldnt fall asleep until past 3 in the morning!! Anyway, 7 Pounds was really intense. Its hard to believe that someone would go through that much pain to benefit the lives of others. I felt bad for his friends and family though. He expected a lot from them and in a way, they were the most effected by his actions.

As for The Day The Earth Stood Still, it was... interesting! Over all I liked the movie but I didnt understand some of the events that took place. I hated how the army automatically shot at him the minute he came out of the "orb". Also, I felt like they were trying to send a message about global warming. I'm starting to think that the aliens will come to destroy us next week some time! haha... we'll see!

Jenny Blog: Day Two

Today we were supposed to be nice to each other. This lasted about 2 hours, which isnt bad! I think all the meanness started during english when Jenny and Hanna like to act like they are on crack! haha! Then Neil came in, to see how we were doing with our project and he started explaining to Jenny how she has had the advantage of everyone writing in pencil when she was in primary school (and now). Jenny answers with " oh okay, so then ink"! haha, what?? I dont know where your head was today Jenny? Just remember, I want to "help you"! We all do! =)

Jenny Blog: Day One

Today, every time Jenny would say something smart I replied with "Go Korea". Only she had no clue what I was saying cuz she doesnt speak korean. Haha!! I thought it was a good comeback to whatever swedish word she as yelling at me. Which, I know was something bad (even though she wont admit it). Its okay! I know in my heart that you don't mean what you say Jenny! =)

Lunch Lady Conspiracy

So... as Hanna Fr and I were discussing earlier at school, we believe the lunch ladies are out to get us. Haha! Well, I already know that most of them don't like me but I'm starting to think that they don't like anyone I'm with either!?! Anyway, every time Hanna and I go back to get seconds, THE FOOD IS GONE!!!! Or the food we want to have is replaced by something less tasty=(( 

Oh no... can't say which is better?

Every year countries all over Europe compete in the Eurovision song competition. This year the winner chosen to represent Sweden is Malena Ernman with the song La Voix. My Swedish family was less than happy with the result but considering the alternative, anything is better. This is a vid of the women who came in second place, less than ten points behind Malena. It's hard to say which song of hers is the best but in order to really show you how crazy she is I had to pick this one. Hope you like it! haha. 

Boarding In Hemavan

Spent the past week in Hemavan with my swedish family! The weather was cold but the snow was almost perfect! My sisters decided to go off course and ski through the trees.... I hit about 5 trees on my way down! haha

Adidas

Just watched this advertisement for adidas on tv! It made me want to go out and buy a pair of Adidas shoes. As a kid I loved everything about adidas.... I dont know why. I think its cuz they were the most popular soccer brand around so all my cleats had to be adidas!

Staying home, sick

Today I did nothing but watch the second half of the first season of The Mentalist. Since I was also sick yesterday I watched the first half of the first season. Once you start watching the show its hard to stop.... its addicting!!
